A: Absolutely, says mermaid Linda Waldon, image stylist to women over 50!
Take care of the three “C’s,” says Linda: you want to be cool, comfortable and covered at your next outdoor summer wedding. She shared ideas for what to wear to a summer wedding that will keep you light, fresh, and oh so stylish.
- Drapey, flowing dress
For a hot summer wedding, Linda suggests a dress in a drapey, flowing fabric. A dress with 3/4 lace sleeves, cap sleeves, or flowing loose fitting sleeves will keep your arms adorned without being uncomfortable.
Here are some options:
James & Erin Women’s Angel-Sleeve Maxi Dress – $49.50:
Tadashi Shoji Women’s Short Sleeve Lace Midi Dress – $388:
- Dressy jumpsuit or 2-piece pants + fancy top
As a wedding guest, your role is to relax and have a good time! Says Linda, “I don’t know about you, but loose fitting pants and a beautiful top make me feel relaxed, sexy, and ready for a party.” Linda notes that jumpsuits are very trendy this season. Look for one with a cap or ¾ sleeve, with an easy side zipper for those visits to the ladies room. Wear strappy sandals and you’re good to go! Linda also loves a loose pair of palazzo pants with a chiffon flowing top and strappy sandals.
